Patrick Rodrigues / Portugal

I'm retiringfrom full-stack
development.

A different kind of building begins.

From here on, my work is exclusively in games, electronics, and making.

01 A change in direction

The experience stays.
The direction changes.

I'm Patrick, a maker based in Portugal. My background is in software: tools for education, agricultural sensor systems, and products built at Virtual Academies, Awesome Source, and Altar.io.

I'm carrying that experience into a different kind of work. Games with worlds to explore. Electronics with something to figure out. Objects I can make with my hands.

I'm no longer taking on full-stack roles or general web development projects.

02 From here on

A screen. A circuit.
A pair of hands.

Three ways of following
the same curiosity.

Games.

Worlds to step into.

Systems, stories, and the people caught between them. Small games and experiments, with room for atmosphere and the unexpected.

Electronics.

Ideas you can switch on.

Circuits, displays, and physical controls. Taking things apart, understanding how they work, and giving them another purpose.

Making.

Things that leave the screen.

Wood, sketches, and 3D-printed parts. Learning through the material, making something tangible, and getting better with each attempt.

03 A thread to follow

It was already
taking shape.

A couple of projects from the old portfolio that point towards what comes next.

04 Still within reach

A new chapter.
The same person.

I haven't decided whether rodpa.dev will stay. For now, this page marks the turn, and you can still reach me here.
